Due to their criticality, radars require preventive maintenance. As some of them have a considerable size, they cannot be tested in anechoic chambers, and a new technology is required to perform diagnostics. Our drone-based systems are able to do this exclusively through near field (NF) measurements, which allow us to obtain a radiation pattern, identify potential failures and calibrate the antenna.
When diagnosing primary radar systems, we use our passive remote sensing technology. We make near-field (NF) measurements and, then, through patented algorithms, we reconstruct the far-field (FF). This allows us to proceed with our diagnostics while the antenna under test (AUT) carries on with its operations. Besides, we can reduce the effects of the high energy involved in a working primary radar, that otherwise may cause inaccurate measurements and/or damage the equipment.
