Millimetre-wave scanners improve airport security through a well-balanced compromise between image resolution, ability to penetrate tissues and other materials, use of non-ionizing radiation, and relatively low operation cost. Additionally, it is possible to identify materials studying how these millimetre waves interact with the surfaces under test. Under these parameters, the project focuses on developing a new system for airport security scanning.
